“WE’D DANCE”- Nayana Nair

My feet go off beat

And my hands fumble

Everything seems so hushed

That my mind is searching for words

Words to fill in holes

Holes of silence

Holes in life

But I can’t find

Not words, but holes to fill.

As we dance

Lets not think of how much we’ve hurt each other

Though I think that the honors are even

I just feel and want to feel the certainty in your clasp

I’ve spent some time in reality

I don’t really like it much until now

So lets this song and you hold cloud my mind

Let it fill my soul

Let it fill my heart

Clouds, not of confusion, but of golden hope.

Hope, that there are many such days to come

Each day we’d grow older; Each day more scared, more scarred

Each day finding a new reason to loose hope, still our love reborn

And all these days I want with you

For I promise

We’d fight and we’d kiss

And we’d make each other cry and then make up

And we’d dance

And dance and dance and dance…..

Till our hearts gave up

Not love, but life.
