“How Easily”-Nayana Nair

umbrella-street-city-night-light

The rain has left
leaving behind puddles
and mud sticking to the sole of my clean clean shoes.
But this muddy road I walk on
it glistens like diamonds
under the streetlight.
And picture seems more beautiful, feels more beautiful
than what I expected it to be.

Β Slowly my eyes, absorb this picture
and it dawns on me.
How lovely it is
to walk alone
on this road,
to feel the cold and dampness,
to feel the drizzle,
with the curtain of dark night hanging on this cityscape
and the land illuminated in orange light.

I realize how easily
we can forget about the things we love
or used to love.
And how easily they will creep back
into our heart
when we least expect.

About Nayana Nair

Hi, I am Nayana Nair. I'm 23. Just a crazy girl who has tons of things to talk about....not much organized thoughts sadly. I like to talk about everything...mostly..every conversation of mine turns into a monologue.... So I decided I should start writing a blog..rather than chat.... I'm very much passionate about music, psychology and literature.... Moderate interest in science..... I always want to be a writer (and also a teacher)..But I don't think I have the skills required...this blog is just my attempt at becoming the writer I always wanted to be...Blogging for few years, I have realized I am more of a poet (although, I am not sure that I am good enough for that label)...I hope I realize more about myself through writing. Thanks for dropping by!! Hope I didn't disappoint. :)

  1. “In the rain, the pavement shines like silver.
All the lights are misty in the river.
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight.”
This scene reminded me of Les Miserables ❀

  2. Well, we are good at forgetting things and longings too. Often walk on a rainy day, washes away all the dirt that has accumulated on us. A beautiful post!

  4. Oh yes oh yes we forget the things we love. Sometimes life shouts so loudly we get distracted from the beauty around us. Nature is very healing. I find healing on my land a lot of times. My ponds and trees hold and know all my secrets. ❀ This is beautiful sweet friend! Have a lovely day! πŸ™‚
