Miserable

So I thought,
let’s make a resolution and a promise.
The situation can be miserable
but let’s not make myself miserable.
Let’s not insult myself.

-Park Jimin, BTS (Vlive)

About Nayana Nair

Hi, I am Nayana Nair. I'm 25. Just a crazy girl who has tons of things to talk about....not much organized thoughts sadly. I like to talk about everything...mostly..every conversation of mine turns into a monologue.... So I decided I should start writing a blog..rather than chat.... I'm very much passionate about music, psychology and literature.... Moderate interest in science..... I always want to be a writer (and also a teacher)..But I don't think I have the skills required...this blog is just my attempt at becoming the writer I always wanted to be...Blogging for few years, I have realized I am more of a poet (although, I am not sure that I am good enough for that label)...I hope I realize more about myself through writing. Thanks for dropping by!! Hope I didn't disappoint. :)

  2. Thich Nhat Hanh somewhere says something along the lines of while we are working towards solving our problems in life, we should not forget to allow ourselves to be happy. Your quote puts me in mind of his remark, Nayana.

I think a lot of misery is caused by us. We so frequently make ourselves more miserable than we need to be. That too, comes to mind here.

    • That is really a nice thought. Many times we end up suffering too much just because we can’t separate ourselves from the problems we have.
We do have a tendency to blame ourselves even when it is not our fault.
The quote was by a singer Jimin. I really respect him a lot. Because although he sings so beautiful, he is too tough on himself, and always feels insufficient. But the way he has struggled with it and yet continue with his dream is something I find very motivating. It shows that although there is no answer that will absolutely instantly relieve us from the issues that haunt us and are quite close to our heart, with time we can learn to handle our demons better.
(If you are interested you can give a listen to a song calle “Promise” by Jimin. You would probably need to look up a lyric video with eng translation, since it is in korean on youtube. But it is a really nice song, along the same message as this quote.)

      • LOL! I made another post-it note, Nayana. This time to listen to “Promise” by Jimin who sounds like an interesting guy. You are going to have me making all sorts of notes, I see! ROFL! Well, that’s a good thing. Keeps me young to do a lot of running around. 😀

      • he he 🙂
sorry, to keep you busy with all my recommendations. 🙂
I hope you like it though (wouldn’t want to waste your time 🙂 )
I agree with you on that, one must sometimes look outside the periphery of the circle of what we know and what we are comfortable with.

      • It’s not a waste of time at all!
