“easy way” – Nayana Nair

the easiest way to live,
the one that hurt the least
was to believe
that something is wrong
with me.

  1. Amittras Pal says:

Really, I thought the easiest was to believe that something was “too right” with the world…..

    Nice little post btw.

    1. Nayana Nair says:

      Thank you πŸ™‚
      Glad you liked it πŸ™‚

  2. Sometimes you are an enigma, like a bud just waiting to burst out and bloom, but then I look and you seem to want to keep the petals closed. Beneath, I feel is a wonderful young poet who really wants to escape, but to where?

    1. Nayana Nair says:

I think all contradictory elements inside me (or probably everyone). But maybe that is what makes life richer for me. πŸ™‚
I think I am also not sure what is it that I really want to do. I also do not have the answer to where I want to escape to πŸ™‚ I think as long as I can experience this world on my own terms, such questions do not make such difference to me as well.
I am glad that you see potential me as a poet. Means a lot πŸ™‚ Thank you. πŸ˜€

  3. This would provide something to “Fix” and a way to keep existing for a purpose.
    I enjoyed this thought-provoking piece.

    1. Nayana Nair says:

True. That is something that is in our hands. Being disappointed in people in more hopeless and more disheartening.
Glad you enjoyed my work πŸ™‚
      Thank you so much πŸ˜€

  4. This poem struck me as a gem.

The message resonates with me. Only recently have I dimly begun to see how it is more comforting to think something is wrong with, or strange about, me than to admit the world is messed up,and most likely beyond repair.

It is not necessarily a bad thing to lack a sense of direction. The subconscious mind seems to have one — at least at times — when the conscious mind has yet to discover what it is. Also, wandering and procrastination can both be remarkably similar to the purest exploration — exploration without a preconceived notion of where one is going.

    1. Nayana Nair says:

I agree with you. Sometime we are subconsciously aware of why we make certain choices yet unaware of it. Maybe that’s why it is so difficult to understand ourselves. Because we can’t explain to the world the reason that our conscious mind hasn’t realized yet. We can only walk towards the direction that we are drawn towards and call it fate or succumb under the judging and questioning eyes of this world and our own.
Really glad that you liked my work πŸ™‚
      Thank you so much πŸ™‚
