“Hope you feel the same” – Nayana Nair

I read about the life you left behind.
About the days when love couldn’t protect anyone.
Days when there rose a necessary evil in you.
It seems once you were good enough
to fall for the traps that I live in.
I wish I had known the fragile you,
but maybe it is all for the best,
for my cruelty walks hand in hand with my love.

In your room, as you smile
and joke about the tears you have hidden in your diaries,
about the new hearts that you had to grow every year.
As I peel off my makeup and my sarcastic words,
I realize that I am about to fall for you
(probably for all the wrong reasons).

Though I might not have been looking
for someone sad to love,
but ‘not having to explain’ helps.
It helps that you, like me, know and understand
that showing wounds sometimes hurt more than getting them.

About Nayana Nair

Hi, I am Nayana Nair. I'm 25. Just a crazy girl who has tons of things to talk about....not much organized thoughts sadly. I like to talk about everything...mostly..every conversation of mine turns into a monologue.... So I decided I should start writing a blog..rather than chat.... I'm very much passionate about music, psychology and literature.... Moderate interest in science..... I always want to be a writer (and also a teacher)..But I don't think I have the skills required...this blog is just my attempt at becoming the writer I always wanted to be...Blogging for few years, I have realized I am more of a poet (although, I am not sure that I am good enough for that label)...I hope I realize more about myself through writing. Thanks for dropping by!! Hope I didn't disappoint. :)

      • Please send me your interview if you want to be part of this dearest. I am so glad you are part of this I am truly honored and adore your work my friend – I am proud to call you that

      • Hi dear
I am glad to hear such kind words about my work. The feeling is mutual 😊. I love you poems and find them really touching and inspiring. So it means a lot to hear that from you.
About the interview, I would be more than glad to contribute to it (trying to suppress my inferiority complex and self-doubt about the value of my words as I say this 🙂)
If you can mail me the questions, I can try my best to answer them. (Though a thought is nagging me that you may have already mailed them or posted them and I ended up forgetting about it. If that is in fact the case, I ask for your apology in advance.)
Glad to call you my friend as well. 😊

      • Check your email as you were on my list and i did send you the email but if you did not get it can you email me? And I will send them asap – i would love to get them from you and i ‘get’ the inferiority complex thing, it’s one reason I like you, because you are not an egotist. But you will see that you have every reason to believe in yourself because you are a very talented writer. I believe this. That’s why you are in SMITTEN. Anyway email me candicedaquin@gmail.com and i will send you the questions if you did not receive my emails okay? It is good to hear from you my friend. Are you following the SMITTEN page on FB? xoxo

      • I did check my mail (even the Spam folder), but was not able to find those mails. Anyway I have sent you a mail, so you can send me the question and anything else that I might have missed in reply to that mail. 🙂
Once again thank you for having such a good opinion of my work. Hearing that encourages me to keep on writing. 🙂 xoxo
(And yes, I am following the SMITTEN page on FB :))

      • Just wrote you back today xo TY for writing me! Ah I love that I can encourage you! You so should be. xo
