“Looking at the walls of time” -Nayana Nair

.

We are going to remember
and we are going to survive.
We don’t need to peel our lives from the walls of time,
take back words we always truly meant.
We don’t need to forget the faces
that were the most beautiful to us in this world,
they continue to be beautiful even when they don’t look at us.
We don’t need to hate the people who were once our everything
even if now they are not ours now,
not in the way were used to having them.
Though forgetting is tempting and easier on heart,
we are going to remember them well
and when we survive
their goodness shall thus survive in us.

  1. Remembering those who we have known in a good way is a key to happiness in some ways. If we can only think of bad things then we keep letting hate fester in our hearts. The main problem with that is that letting hate rule our lives only really hurts us, particularly if the target for our hate has long moved away or even passed away. Remembering the good things brings joy. I always remember you for the way your writing stimulates me and brings joy into my life. I hope that you have a wonderful and productive 2023.

That’s so true. The hate we feel, does the most harm to us only. It not only makes us blind to all god things in life but also hinders our real potential to love people and world for what it is. Though it is necessary to look into our feelings and face them however ugly or justified they are, but it would be nice that when we get through that we find a way to to love the redefined world in new ways and to treasure all the goodness of past.
Really thankful for the kind words you have about my writing. It really makes me happy to hear this, that my writing can bring you some joy.
I also hope that you 2023 is a wonderful year for you. May you and your loved ones find happiness and health this year.
      Happy new year 🙂
